Hi All

My first post on here so please be kind :)

I am in the process of putting together my order for my new PC I am going to build (its been about 12 years since I build my last PC!) so I am hoping some of you experts can glance through my current selections, point me in teh right direction if I have anything wrong and answer my few questions..

Motherboard - Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3
Processor - Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
RAM - 16GB
Graphics Card - EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Superclocked 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Cooling - Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1366/LGA1156/LGA1155/LGA775/AM2/AM2) [NH-D14
DISK - SSD Drive
Media - Bluray DVD Drive

My questions are:
1. What PSU should I get with this?
2. Can anyone recommend a case that is under 53cm (depth?) that will take the cooling and G-card.
3. Is there anything above I am missing to make a complete PC?

be careful with your RAM choice when using that cooler, it's big and RAM with tall heatsinks etc won't fit under it, samsung green will, and dragon ram should too.

As Stinger said, a 3570K is all you need, games dont make use of Hyperthreading featured in the 3770K

Just knocked this up:

OEM CPU, save a little money
Gigabyte 680 gets very good reviews
500R is very well reviewed and good quality
Good mobo, gigabyte have a UK RMA centre as well (+ a free mousemat)
PSU is one of the best, it's also on offer and is cheaper than its 750W variant
Very highly regarded SSD
Perhaps the best air cooler out there with the Phanteks (Comes in different colours)
Some of the best RAM out there, hugely over-clockable+low profile
Blu-ray player
Put in a 1Tb hard drive as the SSD is good for the OS and a few games, but not masses of Blu-ray movies etc

Obviously you can mix and match this spec depending on your budget, whether you need a monitor, OS, keyboard and mouse etc, obviously parts can be downgraded etc.

Whats your budget? What's your monitor res as well?

I am aiming to get around the £1500 mark

I have two 24" monitors, both are Dell Monitors with a high res but I can't remember exactly what the res is. One is onlder than the other and only has a VGA input so I tend to only use that when I am working from home.

Do you only use one monitor for gaming? The specs people have put out are fine, the cpu should see you through the next 4 years. If you get any problems with games, it's just a case of selling on your current gpu and getting a newer faster one.

You keep trumping my specs tamzzy! Depends if people want overall speed or ridiculous graphics, do most people need 258gb SSD and 2TB of storage? I guess same goes for SLI 670s though, not many people actually need them...

makes sense, 128GB SSD and you can have the 2TB pr0nshop, fast booting and web browser for more pr0n, and be able to afford 2 670s in SLI for ridiculous FPS in all of your favorite pr0n.

basically, a huge amount of porn in stupid quality and loading nice and fast
