Speckle me a restaurant in Camden

*parachutes into thread*

What kind of food are you after - and do you mean Camden Town itself? :) If you like Tapas then Bar Gansa on Inverness St. is a good bet, really nice tapas and a good atmosphere as well, my favourite Tapas bar (awesome chilli & garlic prawns!) although Jamon Jamon is also good and better for large groups as they have long tables rather than Bar Gansa which have small circular ones so harder to get lots of people in. If you fancy the gourmet burger type places then Haché also on Inverness St gets rave reviews and is v. nice inside. Then you've also got going up Parkway theres NW1 which is supposed to be very nice for Thai food (although haven't been there), there's a Strada there too where you can't really go wrong with the Italian food they serve. Also you've got Wagamama's if you want noodley food which is decent priced and will fill you up a treat. I haven't been there personally but I've heard good things from friends about the Camden Brassierie which is French cuisine but also good service and not too pricey :)

Umm I'll have a bit more of a think over the afternoon and see if I can think of any more :p

I was hoping you'd jump in here. We're going to the Lock 17?? but I think the other half just wants to eat there....

Have you been to the Lock?
Yep have been there a few times but never eaten, from what I recall it's seems to be your normal gastro-pub fare which looked quite nice, I was mainly after the beer though! I'll ask a couple of friends around here if they've eaten there though :)

Cool, thanks - where in Camden are you from?

I've read good reviews about this one and it looks quite cool, the last I had Caribbean food wasn't a good experience though...

I don't eat Caribbean food very often, but I'm used to eating good food, and I've always been happy eating at The Mango Room.

No probs happy to help! Live about 10mins walk from Camden tube and have lived here for about 2.5 years now so have explored a bit! Don't really go out that often into Central London as everything I need is here :)

To echo the above, Belgos is very nice as well, away a bit from the hustle and bustle of the tourists towards Chalk Farm :)
