Table was taken from some foreign site. :p

tbh it should be called gtx280+

Not if you want to publicize your flag-ship single GPU graphics card. NV will want to cause as much fuss as possible, granted the 9800GTX+ but GT200's are paving the way currently.

Also, this 260-216 nonsense - should have been called a GTX 270 or 265.

They can't change the name of the 260-216 as they have to many of them stockpiled, changing the name would not get those sold, which is what they need to do, thats why they are quietly slipping the 55nm's in and making them look no different. :)

Am not so sure they will rip us off with it to be honest. If they do it wont sell, simple as. Sure enough to begin with it may cost a pretty penny, but it isnt as if it's going to leave 260s in it's dust. Buyers will simply keep buying 260 216s or those 1Gb 4870s.

I'd go as far to say, the 260 is very similar to the 8800GTX in terms of longevity and performance. The 8800GTX had it's big brother the Ultra, same with the 260 and 280 but people vouched for the lesser thanks to price/performance.

I can see a 260 holding its own for over a year with 90% of games up to 1920x1200.

yeah the 260-216 is a cracking card, can just about match the 280 when overclocked, so its got a while left yet. :)

Lol, I feel inferior when people say 260-216 when I have the original 192. Having said that, both overclock fantastically well, and like me, if you picked up either 200 series cards around September you got the best price before the hikes. ;)

Think I have a very respectable vantage score, real world performance won't be far off (710/1484/1250 - 24/7 settings)
