Hi all,
Im just about to build my 4th pc, but ive not built one in around 5 years so all i knew is obsolete.
To start with i used to run a triple monitor set-up which i still have and would like to use again, these are x3 1440x900 vga monitors with dvi adaptors to the graphics cards.
i have spec'd this:
Ocuk epic bundle fx8350, gigabyte fxa-ud3, amd 8gb 2133mhz, superflower 650w
psu.
R9 280x possibly R9 290, i dont want to spend to much but i realise the card is a crunch point.
kingston 120gb ssd
after market cpu cooler, dvdrw, win 8.1 64 bit, case.
ocuk dvi - hdmi adaptor ( i still have the dvi adaptors from before to use in the cards x2 dvi slots correct?)
So, in a nut shell would i be correct in saying: 2 monitors would be vga - dvi cables and the 3rd monitor would be vga - dvi cable - hdmi adaptor?
the only games i run are iracing, assetto corsa, i would like to run bf4 and have a go at wolfenstien.
Are these specs capable? Does anyone foresee a problem? Could i save spending on anything?
Many thanks for looking, cant wait to dip my toe in again :)

Hi,

Not just because im a fanboy, but I'd really be looking at the i5's if I were you.

Especially with AC single threaded performance is absolutely key. That is where the 8320/8350 falls down.

The rest looks fine.

May I ask where the case is?

What is your overall budget?

Thank you for your reply, i did consider the i5's but cost won out as i estimated it would be yet another 100 on top of what i have to upgrade to the i5 and mobo.
I dont really have a budget however i dont want to go all out as i dont game like i used to. This is why i chose an amd system over intel.
The case i thought maybe a NZXT phantom 240 mid.
In all i would like steady frame rates on x3 screens pref on high to ultra settings.
