Hi all fellow guitarists,

Have just been to Andertons and fallen in love with the Randall RG75G3 Combo, but am also thinking the stack version as they have it on offer for £499 including the cab.

But here is the indecision do I just buy a marshall I tried out the AVT and the MG100 combos, but the dirty channels wernt up to the randall, anyone else here use randall or have an opinion

I also nearly bought an Ibanez SA260FM in amber, but the wife would kill me

Well if you prefer the sound of the Randall over the others you've tried, then get that.

Were there any Laney's there to try?

no laneys or peavey, but have used a peavey before and it wasnt great

Is it worth getting the older model with the digital effects or am I better of getting a pedal??? please help might go get it later on today I just cant make my mind up

*shrug* no idea for that, dont think anyone on these boards (or at least nobody that posts in here) has a randall amp. couldnt tell you whether the onboard effects are any good.

as a rule are on board FX worth it or is it just better to get a pedal or a multi FX thingy

its mainly the chorus and the delay I might use I had a play and it wasnt a patch on the Boss pedals, so perhaps I get the amp I want now and then get some boss stomp boxes next month, or go all out and get a multi fx stomp box

got the randall RG75G3, oh and an ibanez SA260FM in amber so much nicer than my squier strat, gonna have to break it to the wife when she gets back, she knows about the amp just not the guitar yet, please pray for my man bits

I was actually playing with the boos ME-50 today it seems quite good value considering the amount of stomp boxes you would have to buy to get the same FX as in the ME50, I do think that individual stomp boxes are poor value for money but its what your using them fore I will probably only need chorus, delay and Wah so maybe a multi isnt necessay yet
