I've never been to see a road race stage before.

really fancy going to watch the peloton zoom past during this year's tour of Britain.

Stage 6 goes pretty close to me so I was thinking of going to watch.

I'd love to get some advice on where/top tips etc.

My thoughts are trying to get to the KoM finish on Crawley Hill. That way they won't be screaming past at 30mph and you might get to spot a few faces.

So parking - how soon would I have to get there. I'm guessing park a mile away at a pub and walk to find a vantage point. Would like to end up maybe here: https://goo.gl/maps/AFwnHtQy5mYRehPj8 as it looks like a good spot. I'm assuming turning up a couple of hour before hand in a camper van is a non starter?

I know that the road closures are rolling and will last about 45 minutes to an hour - but still any advice welcome!

I've never driven to watch, but always ridden as there's more flexibility to be on the course - I'm sure I've been able to ride it 10-15 minutes prior to the race coming though. Are you close enough to ride there? Plus, if you're going to a KoM it's always fun to compare the speed you'll ride up to what the pros do!

Sorry, not directly answering your question!

Tour of Britain is much easier to access. If you're driving turn up close by and walk maybe 60 to 90 minutes before, just check where you're going is rolling Road not actual road closure.
