Sam Smith has recorded the theme song for upcoming James Bond movie Spectre.
The track is called Writing's on the Wall and will be released on 25 September.

What do people think about this? I think it's a similar sort of appointment to Adele, he's got the sound/style that would suit a Bond film. I'm not particularly a fan of his work, but I love a good Bond theme so look forward to hearing it :)

I'll make a massive assumption that this will be crap, just like the Adele one.

Never going to beat Live and Let Die, Goldeneye or Goldfinger.

Was hoping this wasn't true - also all the themes that aren't titled the same as the film have been crap and forgettable.

I can already tell you what it will sound like just from what Sam Smith has previously done, it's going to be rubbish.

I don't think he's a good singer at all.

Took 20 minutes for him to write it, now that could either be a good thing i.e Freddie Mercury wrote a song in 10 minutes in the bath or it's going to be utter tosh. I'll be going with the tosh route unfortunately.

Surely a Bond theme shouldn't have the Sam Smith depressing feel to it and actually get you pumped for the film.

Roger Moore was Bond when I was young so The Spy who Loved Me and Moonraker for me.

We Have All the Time in the World (the Iggy Pop version) is special to me as I chose it for a funeral.

All three are on the Shaken & Stirred album which, I think, is quite good.

Freddie Mercury was rather good though, so I think you're right; it will be absolute tosh. :p

The song title is apt.
