Can anyone recommend a good ZX spectrum emmulator I can down load.

There a many out there, but i'm i'm a bit worried about picking one and downloading lots of malware/spyware etc.

So if any one knows of a good "clean" emmulator please let me know

Doesn't really matter which one you pick when it comes to malware/spyware. Any .exe file (or any file for that matter) can be bundled with a virus/malware etc.

I used to have one installed to play my favourite Spectrum48k game of all time...

Chaos

Where upto 8 players (ai or bipeds) are dealt a random set of spells, with which to kill off all the other players, represented by wizards on a square grid.

Part of the fun was trusting your so called mates to not cheat and sneak a view at what spell you used and wheather it was a fake (guaranteed spell sucess) or not!

The ultimate spell, a golden dragon, would always be "illusion checked" if by some miracle it was sucessful, during the next round of spells! :D

I still have one installed for exactly that reason UTmaniac.

Proof, if ever any were needed, that gameplay => graphics.

Using gooey blob to turn illusions real was a nice trick though ;)

Finally someone else besides me has mentioned Chaos in the 3 years I've been on the OcUK forum.

Could be a very short game for someone if you lightning bolted their wizard 1st turn who was unlucky enough to get the 4 or 5 middle position. 4 players round a mates house we even used to turn away from the telly so we didn't see each other's spell lists or whether they were illusions or not, golden days of gaming.

Some clever nerd should make this online multiplayer in a browser or something, I don't think I'd ever get any work done at all.

Julian Gollop rules.

Meep, just found my z80 archive, but sadly it won't run in Vista64...

Might have to do a search :)
