Speculation over Webber re-signs for 2013

Very good news, Webber is a very competent driver and he has a great car underneath him - as his points this year show.

Great news for RBR and Mark but a little disappointing from a neutrals point of view.

Hamilton only really has Mclaren or Mercedes as options, just cannot see Ferrari coming off however good it might be.

Perhaps the big moves are just not going to happen :(

It's easy to forget how good Mark is... I'm delighted that he's signed a new contract. RBR deserve him and he deserves them.

Great racing team (as much as it pains me to say it) and he's a great driver.

Also, don't forget that we could easily be talking about a World Champion here...(2010 Abu Dhabi all the press were around his car - and not Seb's) and he's very much in contention for the WDC this year too in which case, let's say he does win it this year. He could've been a double world champ.

Would be great for him to win one. I don't think many people would begrudge him it.

And perhaps Massa has just found his form again after Silverstone... for some reason I have a gut feeling that he'll be a really good No.2 driver gathering good points for them until the rest of the season, and they'll probably re-sign him next year!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Means Hamilton will be stuck at McLaren :(

Also means that the musical chairs shenanigans we were all looking forward to wont happen :(

Just seen this int he other thread, good news I think, he seems to be hitting a good streak at the moment.

He is a really nice guy as well. Hopefully he can make that extra push required this year to pick up his 1st Championship. At a meeting yesterday his mobile went off, pulled it from his pocket and said " bloody Ferrari again"

Mark did say on Sunday after the Grand Prix on the stage that he would definitely be in Formula 1 next year, however as to 2014, he would see when he gets to that.

I expected him to stay at Red Bull really and even if Hamilton is considering going elsewhere, I think he will give it another season yet, I think he just wants a short term contract, rather than McLaren locking him into one for a number of years.

I seriously doubt McLaren would agree to a 1 year deal for Lewis. They are after another 5 year deal.

If Hamilton stays at McLaren it will be for at least 3 years.

Yes I did say that McLaren want a long term deal, however he clearly doesn't want to be locked into something for that long so he has options. He is a former world champion, one of the best drivers on the grid and a long term McLaren driver so he has a lot of bargaining power. I'm sure McLaren would rather have him on a one year deal if it comes to it, rather than loose him altogether.
