Looking for input from the more laptop savvy individuals than myself as I have only ever built / used desktops (LGA1366 generation).

I will be looking to purchase a laptop for study around August 2019 for an architectural engineering degree. With the current trend of development would it be unreasonable to expect to be able to purchase a laptop with the below or similar specs for less than £1500.

17.3 inch uhd screen
Intel quad / hex with HT
32gb ram
M.2 or SSD boot and large hdd storage
Nvidia xx70 or equivalent mobile gpu

Just looking for some basic input as I've never purchased a high end laptop and would like to begin researching now to make a sensible decision later.

Thanks

I think it's unlikely at that price point. You cannot but the equivalent spec now for less than £2K.

The main thing I am hoping for is that UHD screens become a little more common in the next 18 months as I'll be going from dual 27" 1440p monitors to a laptop so will be a bit of a shock to the system.

I'm guessing scaling back to say 16gb ram and possibly down to an xx60 might be a more realistic option.

I'm just unsure as to how fast tech is moving these days and likewise how long changes in the laptop world could take from what is currently available now.
