spee me an ipod

Don't get me wrong the iPod touch is a thing of joy (I'm on it now) it's just bad that it's tied to iTunes. If ms tried to do something similer (consider ie) there would be he'll to pay.

If all you want is a music player then get a classic.
If you want music and video get a nano.
If you want a multimedia player get a touch.
If you want a fiddly piece of crap buy a shuffle.

But if all you're after is a reasonably priced mp3 player then buy a sansa clip.

Latest 6th gen Nanos will, according to Wiki, lose video support.

Wow loads of people really hate iTunes! I don't have any problems with it.
None of my albums go missing or anything like that

Plug in my iPod Classic and it syncs all my music and i'm done.

Its exactly what I want.

I tried a Cowan player and while it was really good, I wish they did one that was JUST a music player with a massive capacity drive for FLAC

The guy wants an ipod, let him join the rest of the flock ;)
Show me an MP3 player that has equal to or higher than 960x640 IPS LCD, capacitive display, cpu that has similar grunt to the Apple A4 cpu, 3mp camera and 720p HD video capture, ability to edit and watch back that 720p HD video from the device with the ability to play relatively good looking games, all for £190.

Theres more to buying Apple than just to be a drone, the iPod Touch is an awesome specced bit of kit, there is NOTHING out there that even comes close that is not a phone.

Shame it has poor quality mp3 playback, not to mention drm. ;)

As for the screen ips pfft, try a capacitive oled like the s9/j3

Lancs have a nose at the archos internet tablet as well.

It's not really a very good MP3 player though is it? That's it's downfall, all the stuff you've listed is nothing I'd personally look at when buying a music player. Not to mention iTunes which seems to act like teenage girl from time to time.

When it comes to music, sound quality is the utmost priority, which is why the likes of the Cowon J3, Sansa Clip+, Nationite S:flo2 (Telcast t50), Cowon S9 and some of the Sony series are held in such high regard. To get a good sound from an iPod you usually have to go down the route of LOD and amp, which is further cost.

Also, the thing that get's me about most (not all) iPod users is their insistence on using those horrible Apple buds. WHY?!

lol

Save your money, get a sansa clip+

Sansa Clip + i literally insane... you can just shove in a new memoery card when youve run out of space...., + with some decent headphones the sound is awesome :D

I know this is a troll thread, but in any case...this. Just make sure you set it to region: USA, to get past those stupid EU volume restriction rules.

I'm running FLACs on a Sansa Clip + with a pair of Klipsch X1 (S2) and a 16GB memory card...what else I could ask for in terms of a MP3 player I don't know. It's light, small, excellent battery life, great compatibility and interface, and it sounds great.

I admit that the iPod doesnt have the best audio quality but not many people are just after a device that only does one thing, personally id rather have music, hd video capture and playback, internet browser, high resolution screen as well as apps and games.
