Speed Camera Paranoia

I had to work from head office yesterday, which is up near leeds bradford airport.

Being on the airport run, this means that the roads to it are lined with speed cameras, just waiting to catch people out who rush to the airport.

During my return journey i think i passed approximately 20 speed cameras. Through every single one i was watching my speed like a hawk, and watched in the rear view mirror for any going off. None of them did as i was being so careful about my speed. I even passed a mobile camera van that lurks around Robin Hood where the road changes from a 60 to 40, west yorkshire police love parking up there at 6am sunday morning when nobody is around

But i was expecting it and drove up to it doing a few mph under the speed limit.

So why the hell do i still have this nagging paranoia in the back of my head i might have been caught ?

Anybody else worry about these things or is it just me ?

Come to Swindon, lots of uncovered but unused speed cameras that you can speed past to get you used to the feeling of not getting flashed :p

As a subsequence of having no speed cameras, I don't worry.

Saying that though, I did once go by a mobile camera van on the motorway that was parked on the bridge above. Was worried about that one for a couple of weeks as there's no flash to see.

I don't get paranoid generally but some areas really get to me, just the sheer number of cameras about the place...last weekend I was driving a lot around Buxton/Macclesfield, lots of cameras and signs up everywhere promising that aircraft are used to monitor traffic, then theres the SPECS up on the A357.....can imagine its a very easy part of the world to get caught in, especially when some of the roads are just so awesome :D

I don't tend to get this paranoia as the vast majority of cameras I pass are in 30 zones and i'm usually behind someone and it seems to be the done thing these days to drive through 30 cameras anywhere between 15 and 20 mph.

The 537 you mean? Kills that road so much having them there, but there are points where you can concede it's not a bad thing, especially coming over there in heavy rain, or even just in the dark.

I do like to see the speed camera vans out there. After all, it must mean that they have solved all the other crimes.

when i was driving home from the lakes i had my cruise set to 70mph and i was in the slow lane, was aproaching a car infront and there was a car in the right hand lane about to overtake me, he flashed me before i caught the car infront,so i put my foot down just to overtake the guy infront but i didnt wana slow down the other guy too much. must have been doing 85ish, and waved to the guy who let me out.

then i seen a police speed camera van on a fly over above me!

"crap crap crap"

as the guy who let me pull out infront of him, overtook me i looked over and he was a policeman in an unmarked car.

i was really worried, but havent heard back anything since, i drove the rest of the trip home at 50mph >.> that was about 4 weeks ago.

Severe paranoia, pretty sure I have a psychological issue...

Anyway, purchased a roadhawk, so I can see if I sped past any of the cameras or double check footage to see etc etc.

HA every time I drive I get paranoid! So many speed camera and cameras watching traffic lights around here. The traffic light ones are the worse, especially on 40/50 dual carriage ways when they change insanely fast.
