Speed Cameras

Hi Everyone

I have a strange question to ask, this may of already happened to someone here so your input would be great.

Right i was on my way home like 30 minutes ago, when i was coming towards a speed camera. Now i was watching my speed and was between 28-30mph i go pass this camera every day so its nothing new to me i know its a 30speed limit there. I was just passing the camera when an old man over took me and it flashed now even thou he over took as we passed through the camera i would have said we went through the camera nearly at the same time. Now the question is will the camera have picked up it was him speeding or will they just pick who ever they think did it :confused:

him. they will work out both your speeds from the road markings.

how do they know whos speeding though??

It takes two photos.

They will use the markings on the road to see that he's travelled more distance in the time than you did.

Sorry to seem dim but were you driving so that the camera was facing you?

Maybe I'm just a little slow but it comes across that you were on the opposite side of the road...

Depends what kind of camera it was. A Truvelo faces you, a Gatso takes pics after you've passed it (IIRC).

The camera was facing me so yes front facing. There are two lanes as well.

Sounds like a GATSO to me therefore:

They do

It's a dim purple light in the day, and quite a bright purple light at night.

I was in a taxi coming back from a night out, when the taxi driver set one off

What made it even funnier, is that I knew the Truvelo was there and was waiting to see if he'd slow down.

I know what your saying i just wanted to make sure they didnt pick who they thought it was

(Like the government would stereotype

). I mean i would have thought they would have picked a 20year old driver against an OAP. As long as i dont get a letter in the post i ll be fine
