Am I right in thinking they have to flash twice?

On the way to Ikea this evening I just slowed down in time and the speedo read thirty, camera flashed only once as i came onto the lines, so im guessin I was slow enough after that.

On the way home from Ikea I went back through the same area past the camera on the other side of the road and was vaey aware of not speeding, got past the end of the set of lines by about 20 yards and then the thing flashed twice, though I'm pretty sure if your not on the lines there's no way its able to determine how far ive travelled in the time between flashes so it may have been the car behind.

Verdict?

P.S I hate the A34

If you were clear of the lines, then it's nothing to worry about.

Also, if your speedo was showing 30, I wouldn't worry either.

I can do an indicated 30 past speed cameras (bigger wheels, 30 indicated is around 33 according to those big flashing speed displays) and they don't flash.

Just sounds like the radar unit was buggered.

GATSO cameras can only catch you in one direction - heading away from it. If you are heading towards it then you are quite safe however fast you are going. I've seen some round here just randomly flash when there's no one near it.
