Hiya
im pretty new to overclocking so excuse my ignorance. i have been reading some very helpful post on here on how to clock my 6600. but i need a bit of help interpreting the speed fan results.
Im currently at 3.2g and it seems pretty stable, i am running sp orthos (bout 30mins) and the speed fan readings are
temp1-32
temp2-45
i presumed these two temps were the two cores of the 6600 but temp2 rises rapidly to 45 and stays there and temp one is static.
have i got it wrong that these settings are both cores?

thanks for any advice

p.s i did do a search but couldnt find what i needed

thank you Fox
seems a bit strange that the system temp rather than the cpu temp would sit in the task bar but hey! =)
cheers 4 the reply

wheres the core1 and core2 temps then?

TAT or Coretemp will give you the individual core temps, Speedfan will likely measure the socket temp rather than the actual internal temperature of the CPU.

Ah so there isnt a separate temp for each core

It will explain why my idle went from 50 to 38 when i turned the smart fan control off, but only on one of them

The other has lowered by a bit as i turned the exhaust up to full as well

If you want to see the core temps with Speedfan then register on the Speedfan site to test the latest beta version. The more that do this then the better the program will be for all.
