I am trying to get a Hindu styled Baptism which was filmed via a DVR copied so that members of the family can each have their own memento.

While writing the copies I am finding that using the "MAX" settings results in tea coasters. If I slow the burning process to 2x (:() everything works. The discs are Kodak branded gear. What gives?

what speed are the discs rated at... best to manually set it at there maximum. Or perhaps your system is to slow and you are lagging.

The CD's themselves state 8x, but even with max settings I get nowhere near that speed, and in order to not create a tea coaster I have to use 2.1x/2.4x.

I had thought that perhaps it is my system, it's a laptop but not all that bad :

1.73GHz dual core Intel, 2GB PC4200 RAM, though I only have 3GB of the 80GB hard drive free - could this be an issue? I wouldn't have thought so..
