speed of ram

can some advise me on the speed of ram benefits... i have 16gb kingston hyperX genisis 1600mhz , and i want to get some new corsair dominator platinums (16gb) as it will go better with the theme of my pc , but unsure of the speed to get and what benefit it would provide?

1600mhz is usually the norm,you can spend on faster ram but it doesnt really add much
