i've seen many people in these forums and indeed many others, xs for example complaining about their cpu and blaiming intel for the fact that their cpu doesn't overclock as highly as $otherPerson. So just out of curiosity would people prefer to pay slightly more for their 2140/2160/6600 whatever that was actully clocked significantly higher or do they prefer to get what's could be concidered a lower spec cpu and overclock it significantly?
i've seen so many people complaining that their cpu *only* overclocks by 1GHz that it's getting quite irritating

People have just got used to how well Intel processors are built, which gives them extremely high overclocking margins. It is rather annoying when people complain though. It was after all their choice, and there is always a chance that instead of getting a speedbinned part, they will get part that really can only go as fast as its retail speed +10% or so.

People who complain about thier chip not clocking well should be shot! It's a hobby, there are variables, its not guaranteed, and some people are just not that great at it!

If a chip doesnt clock well and you are miffed about it, sell it and try again!

Would I pay for a chip that was guaranteed to clock to x speed? No, it takes part of the fun out of overclocking!

E2160 wasn't out when i bought my new rig, but I'm pretty sure i would have bought one and tried to overclock it to 3-3.2GHz saving me a few pounds in the process :)

i know what you mean, how dare they send $me a E6750 that only works at 2.7GHz, it's a conspiracy between intel and $etailer against $me i tells yah

see, i agree with the completely, if i had a choice between a 2160 for 60 squid that possibly will clock to 3.2 or a 6xxx for 80 that will work at 3.2, the 2160 is a definite
