Speed Stepping suddenly not working

I was just looking at my cpu temps and they where in the 40s - 50s and it should be in the 20s - 30s at idle. It took me a bit to realise why, the cpu isnt clocking down, its always at 4.3ghz and it should be running at 1.6ghz at idle.

It all seems to be fine in the bios, all the cpu power savings are enabled, so I dont know??

Ummmmm,, I have just restored windows to a point that I knew speed stepping was working, but its still the same.

Just got it working, The power plan needed restoring in windows for some reason, but I was sure it was working before I backed up windows..... Oh well

That was my first thought - check the minimum processor state is 0%. Glad it's sorted.

Yeah I checked that,, it was at 5% - 100% but it still wasn't slowing down the CPU, Im glad the "Restore plan defaults" button sorted out the problem though.
