Anyway to speed up the Motherboard Posting?
Even with 'Quick Boot' Enabled it takes a good 20-30 seconds to even get to the 'Starting Windows' part... :(

GA-P67A-UD4-B3.

Thanks.

It largely depends on what you have plugged in to your mobo.
You can disable various controllers to marginally improve POST times, if you are not using them of course.

For example, if you are only using the P67 SATA ports then you can disable the marvel controller.
Other than that
not using the onboard firewire/serial connectors - disable them
Not using a NIC, disable it
Ensure your Primary display type i set to PCI-e
etc.

There are probably a few more things, but it will make little to no difference!

Fair enough, Thanks for your input :)

It takes about 10 seconds before the 'GIGABYTE UD4' Splash image shows. it Then takes another 10 seconds to get past the image and past the ACHI Bios.

if you don't turn the pc off at the plug when not in use, then try swapping to using sleep instead. The hybrid sleep function in vista/w7 means the pc hibernates (saves RAM to the HD) and then goes into sleep mode. When you start the pc again, it just wakes from sleep mode instantly, or if there was a power failure, it falls back to the saved hibernate.

Sorry but I have to say it.

Buy a motherboard with an EFI BIOS.

Tbh I don't understand people who suggest the hassle of this to simply save 5 seconds. Bios have come a long way in the past few years. Even my budget Gigabyte 7 series hits the starting windows screen in 10 seconds with quick boot enabled (by default) an the boot image off (also default - but you could add a big smiley img if you wanted :)).

From Pressing the power button the fans come on instantly and you hear the hard drives turning on then litrally it waits 10-11 seconds before the Gigabyte logo comes up. That stays on for 4-5 seconds then it going to the ACHI thing where it detects the hdd's (takes 5-6 seconds) then starts windows. So roughly 22 seconds+ waiting for the Mobo. :(
