Any one been able to buy at all? My friend is unable to buy at present, as steam crashes where you put your contact details in...

Not out till Febuary on UK retail sites:confused:

tbh , ive found out the hard way and bought this already (via steam all fine) but its very buggy , dont waste your money on this like i have

it's a bit galling....updates on the xbox 360 arcade version and to read the pc steam version is buggy......i really do'nt want to get a xbox 360 just to play one of my all time fav games.

serves you right really , just because something new on steam comes out dosent mean you have to buy it

Did you ever engage your brain and think that perhaps he purchased the game because the old game was great fun and he was hoping the new one would be just as good and not because it was new on steam?

Or did you just decide to use this as a chance to bitch about Steam?

I used to own this on the commodore 64 / Sega Megadrive and then on the playstation.

so i've pretty much enjoyed this game through my childhood, and thought it looked awesome on Steam so i bought it! ... win some you loose some.

in future keep your comments to yourself without knowing the reasons

More like...:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

This was fantastic on both Amiga and ST! :D

No it was fantastic at the time... things have moved on now and its slow boring and crap to play now ( i have an amiga with my games still ). Sure you arent just remembering things though mist shrouded specs of nostalgia?

I have an Amiga as well. I basically made an Amiga 1200 tower with accelerator card and a hard-drive which I use to play Amiga games.

I still think Speedball 2 is fantastic. Yes things have moved on now, however I find some of the older games where gameplay was more important than graphics somewhat better than current games. Every game now, nigh on, is an FPS game - Crysis, UT3, CoD4, etc, etc, etc. in them days every genre was covered. Speedball 2, SWoS, Gods, Kick Off 2, etc. are still highly playable and some of the best two player games you will ever play.

If you want to play more rehashed FPS's then that's fine. Just think of how good the gaming industry could be if people were as inovative as they were thenn. Nowadays every publisher is trying to get the best looking game out there where the very substance of the game is the hardest thing to find.

Whats your problem? Lost your steam account or something?

I don't believe that anyone said they had bought it "just" because it was new on steam...

I'd like to play a demo of it first.

I noticed it on Steam this morning, looked for a demo, but no show.

I downloaded the HD trailer on Steam, but to be honest, you can't tell anything from that.

Had a look at the official site, found a gameplay video, still can't tell if I want it or not.

If Steam release a demo, I'll definitely give it a try, but I'm not parting with any money until I've tried it.... and yes, I used to play it a lot on the Amiga, and am a little concerned as to whether they've done it justice or not ;)
