Speedball 2 pulls all registers
In the third quarter of 2007, Frogster Interactive is set to publish Speedball 2 as the longed-for sequel to the Amiga classic. The new release on PC transforms the futuristic game setting with the help of state-of-the-art technology into a high-speed online sports spectacle. Offering international leagues, a large-scale ranking system and a virtual marketplace, Speedball 2 pulls all the registers of modern multiplayer gaming action. Fully customisable characters from cyborg to amazon, dynamic sports battles, and continuous community support will convince sports simulation enthusiasts, action fans, and e-sports cracks likewise.

This is cracking news, thanks for the info !

"Ice Cream, Ice Cream!"

Let's just hope they do the original justice, unlike the recent Sensible Soccer 2006 remake!

This is the best news ever.

Though part of me is praying they dont mess it up and make it overly complicated. It needs to be simple, fast and above all violent

I remember a speedball 2 remake or might have been speedball 2010 on psx, years ago was all in 3d and stuff.. Either was canned or it floped when released cos i remember absolutly NO one liked it. Tho was along time ago so my opinion is flaky on this since its hard to remember lol.

2010 was lame, however Speedball 2 still stands the test of time.
If they simply soup up the graphics and resist the urge to 3D it up, it could end up being a fantastic idea, the idea of online play makes my Bitmap Shades flicker with excitement!

Frogster Interactive today unveiled details on the Speedball 2 remake dev team working on the project. It seems that Bitmap Brothers, founders and owners of the famous Speedball licence and the French studio Kylotonn Entertainment have joined the team. Speedball 2 will be released this summer. The remake offers international leagues, a large-scale ranking system, a virtual marketplace, fully customisable characters from cyborg to amazon, dynamic sports battles and continuous community support.

All hail the Bitmap Brothers! Woohoo this is sooo cool! Now alls they have to do is keep the style and playability of the original but just expand it and it will be awesome! For gods sakes, they better keep the perspective otherwise it will suck. Maybe just maybe they will resist adding in all the latest pointless graphics technologies just to stay with the fashion, when it totally doesnt need it. I've got high hopes for this one!

I'm dreading it :( Just like every other remake ever they'll ruin it  Leave it be, it's perfect as it is!

p.s. You also better leave The Chaos Engine alone as well!!!

Oh god, I really hope they make a good job of this. I absolutely loved this on the Amiga. Probably the first game I, literally, stayed up all day whilst playing.

Gameplay par excellence!
