Hi,

Is there a way to start speedfan at startup?
I posted in the sticky, but like all forums a sticky dies once it becomes a sticky it seems :)

I looked through the options, but I cant start it when I login to windows.

Fan speeds @ 80% is so much less noise, thats why I need it.

thanks in advance

Currently no option to auto start Speedfan with Windows built in to the program.
Simply copy the Speedfan shortcut in to your Startup folder and it will autorun at login.

Or if you want it to startup under other users as well create a registry entry for it.

Use Notepad and use this text.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] "Name of the application"="/"C:Program Files\Application Folder\Application.exe""

Where it is bold change it to speedfan.
Save the file as a .reg.

Now open the file and it will asked to be added, restart and there you go.

Make sure you leave in the quote marks as well.

Just drag the shortcut onto the start button wait for it to open and keep dragging it till you get to the programs menu and drop it in startup.

Ty.

anyways, it works now, except that the speedfan still boots at 100% fanspeed, and I want it at 80%, which is the reason use it. now its just useless :(

Speedfan will always start at whatever you have set for the maximum fan speed. It should then lower the speed if it thinks the monitored sensor is below the limit you have set.

Is this right:

configure > speeds > speed1 > 80% > ok

this should mean next time I boot its 80% right?

So long as Speedfan can actually change the speed of 'speed1' then yep, it should be 80%. Can you manually alter the speed of 'speed1'? Not just change the value but actually slow the fan down?

the problem is, even if I set speed1 to 80%, it still boots on 100%. so I gues I have to do it manually. :(

not that big a problem, just more noise when i am in bed :)
