Hi,

After finally sorting out my terrible wiring (see here) I got back to OC'ing my setup. I've put CPU up to almost 3Ghz and memory to 1000Mhz at 5-5-5-15
Edit: Orthos RAM test didn't like 1000Mhz, back to 834 for now

Orthos has now been running over 30mins and all temps are about the same as the pic except Speedfan Temp 2: 58C
What is this temp, northbridge? And is it safe? I ask because it's much higher than before the OC. Was about 45C.
Could be due to me putting up voltages. I upped FSB voltage, MCH voltage, DDR2 and CPU voltages. All up just one notch from stock in BIOS

And to add to that. The difference between the core and socket temperatures seems to get less with the better cooling block used or cooling contact. In my findings anyway.

Thanks andy.
That's why I was a bit concerned with the previously unknown temp (socket) as it is practically identical to core temps under load.

Well Orthos is fine for 1hr with those temps so it'll have to do I guess

I would try running large in place ffts aswell in orthos as this will heat the cpu more just to make sure it's not going to cook. And I don't thing you will need to increase FSB or MCH at that speed. My FSB is at 415 now and I haven't needed to.

OK cool. I'll drop down the voltages then, I won't be pushing the CPU much (if any) further.
Will give some longer testing tomorrow then try and push the RAM a little bit more
