Hi,

I am having trouble identifying whats what on Speddfan 4.34.

nonamepp5.jpg

I take it Core 1 & 2 mean Core 1 & 2 but im confused as to what Temp 1 & 2 are, especially Temp 1 as this gets hot when overclocking, RAM? NB?

My set up is as sig (although CPU is @ 3.6ghz 400x9)

Cheers in advance......

Can turn of the -128C obv.

Boot to Bios and compair CPU and Mobo temps from it to Speedfan, for CPU one simply load up Prime or Orthos and watch what Temp rises the fastest/highest.

ok, i turned the cpu fan upto 100% and left the PC idle for 10 mins.

Temp 1 44
Temp 2 42
Core 1 39
Core 2 37

Restarted into Bios . . . .

System Temp 41
CPU Temp 47

Started Orthos . . . .

(StressCPU)

Temp 1 57
Temp 2 42
Core 1 52
Core 2 51

So now im thinking Temp 2 is system temp, but still not sure about Temp 1.

oh and the temps almost instantly drop back once orthos stopped.

cool, cheers for your help.

Im still none the wiser as to what Temp 1 is though.

Anyone :P

Save the headache of figuring it out and try seeing what something like PC Wizard 2008 says :) Then you can compare the temperatures and find out which they are then change the name in Speedfan.

Cheers for all the responses.

I think i get it now, Temp 1 is the CPU socket (is it normal for this to be higher than Core 1 & 2?), Temp 2 is System.

Done.

PC Wizard says:

Processor Temp 41`c

Processor Thermal Diode Temperature

Core 1 29`c
Core 2 27`c

So im confussed again. Which is my CPU Temp? Which do i use to determine o/c?

Sorry to be all noobish about this guys, im really not one ;)

Use the Core 1 + Core 2 temperatures for reference, ignore "Processor Temperature" to a certain extent. The Core's are the important part.
