Hello all,

Speedfan is reporting 2.3V VRAM for my "Kingston 2GB KIT (2X1GB) DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 CL5 Non Ecc 1.8V" set to 1.8V in bios (bios revision 2.1 on MSI P6N SLI).

Any other programs I can check the VRAM on? Just want to make sure I'm not cooking my memory.

Thanks,
Chris.

Generally these days most BIOSs allow you to add on an arbitrary amount to the voltage you put to your RAM.

For example you can set it to 1.8V but also have a +4, or a +0.4 which would take you to 2.2V.

Might want to check for that in BIOS.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've set the voltage explicitly in the BIOS to 1.8. This value can be changed all the way to 2.6. I can't find a second option available for setting the RAM voltage.

Alright, that's one thing out of the way then.

No, Speedfan lists VCore1 and VCore2.

VCore1 is the CPU's vcore.

VCore2 is the VDimm. It should read the same as you set the VDimm BIOS.

Just because I hate problem threads that don't report the resolution/answer:

I couldn't find a Vcore2 in CPU-Z. I loaded up duel core centre (I have an MSI board) and besides beeping at me lots as my fans are not plugged into the mainboard it told me my mem volts are 1.8 as expected. Speedfan was misreporting.
