Is there any time limit within which the police or whoever have to prosecute you for a speeding fine ?

The forms were returned saying who the driver was etc about 8 months ago. Shortly after that we got a letter saying that it would be going to court.

Havent heard anything since and was wondering if there is a time limit within which they have to complete the above proceedings.

Thanks for that.

It seems as that as long as the police have laid the evidence at the courts within six months, they have up to 2 years to prosecute - according to my understanding from your link.

I believe (but not 100% sure) they can issue a summons any time up to 2 years after they have laid the information to the court.

http://www.pepipoo.com/ is your best bet for factual information in this area.
Be wary of the info they give out as it led to me receiving 4 points, where I would have only got 3 had I just returned the NIP as per normal.

Not really following any of their advice. Just need the facts.

If you have been caught obviously speeding and identifiable, then just take it on the chin and get on with life. But on the other hand, if you can get away with it, you should.
