Hey :) Hope you lot can help me out a bit here...

I *think* I got caught speed on Friday evening (roadworks with no workers, doing ~38-41 in a 30, copper in his car with a speed gun. I know - think of the children, etc) but I had only sent off the change of address form for my driving license & log book that morning (just moved house). If I am due a ticket, it's not going to get to me as I know the DVLA are not that quick changing the address from past experience. Does anyone know what will happen? I'm not trying to dodge the fine, if I got caught then fair enough - I just don't want to end up in court, I'm happy to stump up the cash.

Cheers,

:)

I think they send out a reminder if you dont reply.

Give them a call, you can find their number from google, and explain the situation, dont own up to speeding though!

Im sure this happens so there will be measures in place to stop you ending up in court

Go to the post office website and re-direct your mail. You'd be surprised how much will turn up you'd forgotton about. Worth the cash imho.

Does that take effect instantly?

Cheers :)

Edit: Danm54, who would I call? I'm not sure who the fines come from (never had one in 6 years of driving), is it the DVLA, local police authority?

Pretty quick in my experience. can't say for sure but surely worth doing anyway.

Local fuzz ticket office are the ones to contact

I've just had a thought... how do I ask the ticket office if they have a ticket for me without admitting to speeding? That would just be icing on the cake :p
