A relative has just got a NIP for speeding (going past the camera coming up here).
The NIP states that she was doing 61mph in a 40mph limit. Now, she admits doing 61mph. The problem is that she thinks it was a 50 limit, and both the 'site photographs' on the Manchester police site and google maps thinks it's also a 50. While this doesn't change the fact she was speeding, it changes the severity, and therefore the punishment (61 in a 50 is eligable for speed awareness course, 61 in a 40 isn't).
What's the best course of action? She's filled the NIP out, but what should she do next?
(If there's anyone here who's local to Cheadle and can confirm that the A34 Kingsway southbound at Etchalls Rd overpass is either a 40 or a 50, that'd be great!).
