Speeding Up Vista Boot Time

Getting an newer pc worked fine for me

Edit: made bugger all difference, 35seconds down to 32. first sight of bios screen to first sight of user selection part of logon screen.

I just find vista slow as hell booting up.

Saying that, my computer spends a lot of time posting stuff as well so its a really slow boot for a high spec PC.

Just tried it set to 4 cores and i dont think it made any difference.

no difference whats so ever

IMO your harddrive is the biggest bottleneck when it comes to OS loading

i noticed vista boots slightly quicker since i upgraded from 4gb>8gb ram. but this is totally offset for me by how long it takes the intel ahci bios thingy to load - takes ages.... (pre windows obviously)
