Hi,

I own a EOS 7D and I have a EX530 MK2 flash gun.
The 530 is too big for mw take on holiday, so I thought about buying the smaller EX270 MK2 flash.
Which has a guide numer of 27 compared to my EOS 7D pop up flash of 12.
So more than twice as powerful as my pop up, and my 580 has a guide number of 58. So clearly my 580 is powerful for most tasks, however for holiday it will be manily be for shadow fill and so night shots were I need to illuminate a subject.

So has any one used a EX270 MK2 on a EOS DSLR ?

not trying to wind you up, i take my 580 and never had a problem. cant it just sit in a bag till its required?

We normally travel with cabin suit case only as we book holidays our selves.
So taking a 580 plus 4-8 AS batteries is a fair amount of weight!
Hence the 270.

I am hoping to buy a 430 any way as a slave for my 580.
Even so, the 430 is still to big for holiday.
Perhaps I should take my eod 7D to jessops and try out a 270 in store !
