Just bought a new Netgear DG834G to replace the dead one.

Hook it up, get my connection, my lovely 6944kbps (live literally across the road from the exchange). Everything's going great for a day.

Then the thing starts spontaneously disconnecting randomly. Followed Netgear's instructions from their site. The router stops randomly disconnecting.

Except, now, despite being shown as connected at 6944kbps in the router config, I'm not able to download at speeds in excess of 80KB/s. This goes for all PCs on the network. Wired and wireless.

Make of this, what you will:

Sounds to me like my connection has been downgraded at the other end. Any ideas?

Cheers.

Sounds like your IP profile has been reduced, give it 3 days to come back to normal, as long as you don't sync any lower than you are.

check your profile here http://test.speedtester.bt.com/

A sync of 6944 should give you an IP profile of 6000

Cheers - just run that, and it all seems fine now - showed me connected properly, and my samurize config showed me to be downloading back at the speeds I'm used to :)
