speeds keep slowing down untill router restart.

Hi,

Ive been haviong a problem the last couple of weeks with my broadband speeds dropping slowly over time. eventually i get speeds of about .75 mb and below. The only thing i can do to take it back up to normal speeds is either restart my router or unplug from wall and thenn plug in again.

Ive tried changing filter and this has not solved it. Could it be that my router is faulty? its a belkin router and hardwired to pc.

Oh also i only use a filter in my secondry phone point as its the only one with anything plugged into it.

Testing a new router should confirm/deny a faulty unit, it's be my first port of call.

It does sound like it's your router but if you haven't got another one handy then plug your existing one into the master socket to confirm it's not your wiring:

Have you tried updating the firmware?

I havent tried connecting into main skt but i have checked the connections in both and all are fine. Unfortunatly i dont have a spare router so only thing i could do is but one.

If upgrading firmware could solve the problem then i would try that. Ive also just noticed that when the speeds drop down so far the connection drops altogether and router restarts.

edit- ive now updated my firmware so i will see how i get on wiht it.
