Speeds with Sky vs BT Who is telling the truth?

Both, because it's just an estimate...

There's just so many variables they can't accurately predict your speed.

If you physical line is less than 1.4Km then you should good the full 20Mbit. If it's nearer 2Km then you will be looking at the 17Mbit. Only once it reaches 2.5Km will it drop down to sub 12Mbit.

If you are 937 M from the exchange then even if the line is twice that length you'll still get a good speed.

Basically, It doesn't matter what the ISP providers promise, it boils down to how many users share your supply where you live, will determine the speed you get.

It's just estimates. There's too many unknown factors to include such as actual line length (wires are not a straight cable going directly to your house) and the quality of the line, these things can affect what actual speed you get. I would say Sky is a more reserved one, with the BT estimate being a more optimistic one.

You'll get the same actual speed though with both, so I would go with Sky since they have a better non-throttled broadband service.
