Speedstep/C1E/EIST

Hi,

I've more or less finished OCing my system (3Ghz on Q6600) so was looking at turning speedstep, etc back on thinking I'd run at 3Ghz under load and it would throttle back when idle saving power.

Is this right?

I only ask because after re-enabling C1E and E1ST in the BIOS the CPU is throttled to 2Ghz and stays there, even under load.

How are you measuring it under load?

How are you putting load on the cpu?

Hi,

Using coretemp to measure and OCCT and prime to load.

Try using CPU-Z to see if the multi changes when on load.

Let us know your findings.

Well, I used CPU-Z and it shows that the CPU throttles correctly. Thanks for that.

I assume then that coretemp is buggy?

it simply only checks once
