Speedstep makes PC freeze.

Hi,

If I enable the speedstep options in bios, the PC will randomly freeze. It can freeze during Vista loading. in Vista and has even froze in the bios setup. Disable the options in bios and no freezes in Vista or bios. Any ideas?

have you verified the stability of your non overlclocked system.

memtest
prime small fft 8+hr
prime bend 8+hr

could be a fault somewhere, speedstep pushes it over the edge

I ran memtest for 5 hours with no problems. Ran Everest test and the PC frooze within 5 minutes. Went into bios and loaded defaults and restarted. Everest test ran over 4 hours 10mins before I got bored and stopped it. My mem is at 6-6-6 but at least it seems stable now. Speedstep is off.
