Sorry Guys ,

Im new to this.

Is it correct to disable Speedstep when overclocking?
I would have thought there would be more stress put on the cpu over its lifetime as it is running full pelt when idle?as well as using and more energy.
I can only guess that this would make for a more noisy machine.
Iwas going to clock a q6600 to 3.2 ghz with an Artic Pro cooler.on a p5k premium

Problem is that Asus boards do not allow as I understand to enable Speedstep after an Overclock. The option is not available

Hi

Can Anyone confirm that this is the case with Asus boards and if I cannot use Speedstep whether this is good or bad cotinually running at the overclock speed
