just enabled speedstep on my rig, for some reason its not lowering voltage with the multiplyer..? i'm using an asus P7P55D not sure if its because i have my vcore set manualy in the bios? :confused:

Got the same problem. Manually set voltage and now it won't adjust with the multiplier.

On at least some boards it only changes voltage if you're running at stock.

I'm yet to see any convincing evidence that speed step decreases power consumption or temperatures, but I'm more than happy to be educated on this topic.

Never bother using it now, cant say about power usage, but it made little to no difference on temps.

On my UD5 I have speedstep enabled, due to voltage is manually set and overclocked the cpu does not drop very far, only a few hundred mhz.
