Speedtocuh 585i Help:

:D

Either that or get Sky LLU or another LLU which I know to be available...

Oh the options.... :p

Oh another note, does anyone know the best firmware for this? I'm on the latest but the dead net connection (PPP) whilst keeping sync issue is still there. Something apparently not in earlier firmware i.e. 6.1.0.5 as it would just resync automatically. Now it just sits there synced but with no active net connection. Argh! So annoying having to manually resync.

I changed to 6.1.0.5.0 last saturday and since have not had the dead sessions, it resyncs properly now when snr drops to 1 or less.

Here is my v6 running quite happily with DMT using the latest firmware from the Speedtouch UK website. I've indicated in red which bit I change to get best results.
Is that the only thing you've changed?

The 00 to 08?

I've just done the same and my synce rate shot straight up :)

Fingers crossed...

Doubt it'll last though, my snr has gone down to 6.5 :(

Yes thats the only thing I've changed, and as your sync rate goes up, your SNR will go down with it as far as I can gather.

Have a read of the link I posted earlier to a thread on the ADSLGuide forums, changing it to 10, or 12 might increase stability at the expense of a slower sync rate, but probably not by much.

That's what I have to do when we have dodgy weather, otherwise it's constantly dropping in and out of sync.

Speedtouch 585i users: Does anyone here know how to manually change/set your own DNS servers in the GUI?

I've had a look around, but can't seem to find anything :(

Cheers,

SW.

This is not possible, you have to use CLI commands to do this
