Speedtouch 580 & 585 the same?

Hello,

I have been looking at the Speedtouch 585 router as I have a long line and would like to use the DMT tool to tweak the SNR abit, but I was wondering if the 580 version is the same? I know the 580 doesn't have ADSL+2 but I'm not worried about that, do they use the same chip set? and does the DMT tool work on the 580?

What is DMT used for? I found a German page about it but that's not too useful.

It is an application that allows you to control the SNR of your line. So you can get faster speeds.

It works on my 585, also on a 510 but never tested it on a 580.

its pretty self explanitory tbh. The fourms are a mix of german and english, so take a look there for help..
