Speedtouch 585 problem

Hi all,

Got a problem with my 585. I cant log on to the web interface as it will not accept my username and password. I can however log in using the same username and password via the DMT tool and telnet.

I added a user via the CLI command user add, and DMT confirms this but still cannot log in. Any ideas short of factory reset? If not i'll have to do a factory reset but cba to set up port forwarding again!

humm have you tried from a different browser/computer? long shot...

edit: strange tried from my laptop via firefox and its ok but i used it via this pc and this browser (ie7) last night and it was fine

Have you recently upgraded to IE7 by any chance?
I can't log in using IE7 but had no problems with the old version. Can still log in using opera and, like yourself, with the DMT tool.

yup new install with IE7. Strange though that I was connected via IE7 last night. You got the same router?

Yes, same router.
Another excuse not to use IE is always handy!

Just bought a 585 from OcUK today, spent an hour or so fiddling around setting it all up and then decided to change password at the end and got this very problem. Ended up reseting it and reconfiguring it all again :mad:

Glad I found this thread before I plucked up the courage to try again.

worked fine on my 716WL, i was forced to use firefox/opera to access the webGUI for a while :mad:
