Me and my partner are both big shark enthusiasts, we are going to the deep on Friday to see some sharks of course but i was wondering if there is anything else worth seeing while we are down there?

And if they are any restaurants that over look the sea that we could go to?

Thanks for all the info guys

Turner Prize exhibition has sadly ended in January 2018.

The Museum Quarter on the High Street is an easy walk from the from The Deep, - have mooch around Wilberforce House, all free of charge.

If you fancy nice restaurants, check out the Humber Street area - next to the marina, lots going on there and has had a major refurbishment, quite hipster-ish.

A few ideas from a local.

If you want a little snack for lunch that tastes amazing to The Hull Pie. Their pies are the best I’ve had.

If you want somewhere quaint to stay nearby Cottingham is lovely.

The marina is your best bet and only a short walk from the deep; plenty of restaurants since the refurb of the area although some can be quite pricey - if wanting something a tad cheaper you have the minerva right on the front. If your staying overnight the old town is worth a visit for a few jars

Don't really see us going to those museums but the Humber street area i will be definitely checking out.

I was going to decide weather we should stop overnight depending on how the day pans out and weather we fancy a drink (knowing my other half we will probably end up plastered)

As far as somewhere nice to stop I wouldn't mind finding somewhere for under £60 for the night... that would be good.

Thanks again.

For locals perhaps. I spent 4 years there as a student and I really don’t understand why it gets such a bad reputation.

Seconded, also lovely people. Though they've hipsterised many of my old students haunts, Newland Ave now has a wine bar. A WINE BAR! And they got rid of a divey old mans pub to build it. For shame. I would have stayed for longer post uni but 2008 wasn't a great time for a newly minted graduate to find work anywhere let alone Hull.

There's a popular Chinese restaurant that will sell sharkfin soup if you use the secret password. It's just on the high street past the Woolworths and c&a.
