Sperm donor...

You'd already mentioned bonding at that point

Ok let me throw the following questions at you, Will you do it if the law was changed to protect you then? Or you wont do it because of you not wanting an extra mini-you around in your life later?

If the law was changed I wouldn't ever even know if there was a mini-Gilly I didn't know about...

i have looked into egg donation before.. even though it is quite invasive, i wanted to do it for moral reasons, but the law changed and now I will never do it.
Before it was annonymous, now it is not. That is one hell of a difference.

Please tell me you are female  Otherwise they gonna be poking about in there up the wrong hole....

My bro had to give a sperm sample.... he was told SPECIFICALLY there is no saliva allowed in it (after asking) :( He was well disapointed :p

some interesting posts here.

My view is much the same yes if it was the old laws but no now.

I dont know but i am guessing that this change came from the EU and the human rights act and not a decision made by the british government.

Also i dont think it is that simple to track a donor down to a specific address under the current law it is just that they are no longer have anonominity from the point of view of the medics. (could be wrong tho thats just my opinion)

I loked into this a while ago and they have very strict rules. you can't smoke, drink, or do drugs. and you have to leave yourself alone for about 5 days before you do it!

You've not knocked one out for FIVE DAYS?

Jesus - 24 hours and I'm climbing the walls.

Guess I must have uber-drive, as I play sport or goto the gym every day - doesn't make any difference. :(

I'd donate if anonymity was restored, not a chance otherwise.

I never have done it but I wouldn't be particularly against it, but the laws would have to revert to how they were.
100%
who would want some kid to turn up in 16 year time with a huge grudge!
I don't want to be to blame for someone elses issues!

but how much are they paying now?

Sperm donor tracing has made it almost impossible for clinics to obtain sperm. I wouldn't want someone to know if I had donated sperm, and I would want to do it anonymously without any chance of the recipient tracing me.
