I have a full jar of spice mix that has just passed it sell by date, so I want to use it in something. I love the taste of spice mix in cakes, but hate fruit cakes or any dense cakes.
What I want to know is can I just put some into a basic cake mix? In place of cocoa if I was going to turn it into a chocolate cake for instance? I'm sure I have had something similar in the past, but can't find any recipes that aren't fruit based.
Also if anyone has a tried and tested cake recipe that I could add it to and how much I should add, that would be awesome!
