Just came here to agree with this. I also honeymooned there (great choice!) so I keep a bottle at all times anyway, but it's just so good.
A surprise bottle of rhum from France when the Mrs was at the supermarket - Panama rhum:

Quite tasty - it's definitely a vanilla top note without being sweet, had a neat sip and it's decent but could do with a little more barrel time or a little more balance on the vanilla. Easy mixer too. Not bad.
I'm less of a vanilla sweet taste, and prefer more of a non-sweet complex taste. So the bottle will do not quite the same as Flor de Cana, or Arcane, or some of the older rhums from the Caribbean etc.
Anyone tried this: https://www.masterofmalt.com/spirit...y-rum-peat-spiced-inaugural-release-2023-rum/ from a French perspective it's likely to be classed as an abomination but it sounds intriguing.
