I was going through Amazon and came across one of these. I'm an arachnophobe, I don't mind admitting [anything larger than an inch = too large]. Has anyone used one of these or will it be a pointless waste of cash?

I bet it just drives them out of the walls to seek shelter from the noise in the sound proofing comfort of your duvet ;)

I personally use Flammable substance + fire to repelk any unwanted pests e.g Wasps, Ants, My brother ect... However I encorage spiders to set up home in my house as they get rid of other unwanted pests without me wasting flammable substances that could be put to better use setting fire to other things

I like the techical details:

Technical Details

  • Pest repellers
  • Pest Repeller - Goodbye Spiders!
  • No Spiders
  • Repel Spiders
So what does it do then? ;)

Without Spiders this planet would be infested with flys & i hate flys. Condition yourself to accept our little arachnoid friends they are actually quite cool when you get to know them. It's not like we are in Aus with all those dangerous ones is it.
Anyway Leave the Spiders alone (insert serious smiley here)

I know, but having an irrational fear of something means any form of reasoning won't make any difference. Someone could come up with the best argument as to why spiders are good but I still can't stand to see them running around.

Irrational fear does not exist. You can believe it's irrational but it's usually somthing buried deep in our subconcious that will rationalise that fear you've just got to dig deep enough!

To be honest mate they gave me the heebee jeebees for years, No real reason they just used to freak my crap out. It took me around 3 years to condition myself but nowadays i can handle them & even catch the odd fly & sling it in the web of the spiders i get in my bathroom. Don't do this though as watching a Spider eat a fly is about as aggressive as you can get :p
I love the way they Hunch up then steam in for the attack/kill.
Anyway like i say just gradually work on it over the next few years & you will overcome your fear/phobia.

I got a insect repeller from a high st electronics shop and after a month or two I started to hear it which annoyed the hell out of me. I think it was more the case of it being cheaply made and the frequency shifting rather then my ears becoming bat like though.

I hate spiders :(
