Spiders in Home

It's the males coming into the house looking for some action. Not sure what you could do to deter a male spider on that mission.

We've had some biggies in, our cat only gets interested once they're under a glass.

Not a huge fan but at least they're not out to kill you like in Aus. They are awesome things in reality, the tiger ones in our garden are downright pretty.

If you want to freak yourself out check some youtube on Aussie wolf spiders eggs bursting.

Trust me, you are not finding spiders with a 6cm body length in the UK.

Legspan, yes. Some of the larger "house spiders" will get pretty decent legspans in excess of that, but body length? Not a hope in hell.

Our cats a bloody wuss!

She just jumps around them giving them the evil eye while they wander off! Only thing she does is maybe pat them once or twice, like she's wishing them luck... stupid animal.

To be expected considering this is how she spends most of her day though...

I don't mind getting them, usually just slam them with some tissue as the big ones never seem to bother with webs - just scaring the other half by running behind her bedside table! :D

Your cat is beautiful :D

Also spiders > mosquitos/flies/wasps/insert other biting/stinging/disease spreading insect here which spiders catch and eat

We haven't had a single spider in our flat in 5 years then we have had 2 in a week. Both large house spiders, the 2nd had a leg span so big it got its legs trapped when I used a pint glass To get it.

It did do a cool glide down to the floor when I flicked it off the balcony. It was big enough that I was able to see it land and walk straight back towards the block to come in again :p we are 3rd floor.

I hate spiders and would normally kill it but trying to teach my son not to and they won't harm you.

Our cat loves to get all the spiders its often a race between me and him to catch them if i get to them first they get chucked outside.
Also he is a great moth and fly catcher.
