Hi everyone,
As title says, I've spilt coke on my apple keyboard and now some of the keys are sticky and have lost their tactility. Is it a good idea or not to soak it in soapy water?

you could soak it in wd40? will dissolve the cola suger and do no harm at all to the keyboard might it might smell of wd40 for a week or 2 , not an unpleasent smell though ;)

I always put mine in the dishwasher. Just take out batteries (or power sources) and leave to dry thoroughly.

Should have mentioned that mine is a wired aluminium keyboard - I believe from last generation macs?

Also, I need something thatll work quickly and not cost me anything.

So deionsed water, no. WD4- no. I have no dishwasher (and that seems like a bad idea anyway).

This one time my mate at uni purposefully spilled an ice cream float all over my apple keyboard as an April Fools joke. Half the keys didn't work and it was a real sticky situation. We ended up cleaning the mess with window cleaner by spraying and scrubbing it (because its good at cleaning stuff and its all we had in) but the keys were still broken and the keyboard smelled funky afterwards. We took our keyboard to an iStore but the employees there accused us of damaging the product on purpose so we had this massive argument which I lost.

Just put your face really close to the keyboard and inhale sharply through your nose all over it, how much did you spill? A gram, 2? You might need to leave it a bit between 'cleansing'.

Depending which Mac keyboard it is and (you having the right tools since Apple like hex head screws) you can take it apart and clean it up with water as necessary. Dry it off with a cloth then use a hairdryer to get rid of any remaining moisture, should be good to go once it's put back together.

Done it myself (older white-keyed G5 keyboard) and it didn't take more than an hour.
