hi, my mother split a little bit of tea on her laptop. it was behind the laptop n only a little came through the gap between the screen and the base. turned if off straight away n mopped up the bit on the surface. i took the keyboard out and allowed it to dry for about 4-5 hours in a warm room. at first the keyboard worked but then started typeing lots of y's and 5's by itself. so switched it back off and left it for a bit longer but now keyboard has stopped working completely, any suggestions??

its a dell inspirson n5010

thanks

It may be worth giving it a proper wash in clean water (the keyboard only obviously) and then leave it overnight somewhere warm to dry. Use a desiccant (dry rice or similar) if you can to help things along.

If that doesn't work you can usually pickup replacement keyboards for about £20. Just checked and they aren't even that expensive.
