What causes the disparity in price between different spirits. For example, why is a litre bottle of Smirnoff £14, while a 70cl bottle of brandy is around £25?

What are the reasons behind the high prices for a certain spirit?

What is interesting is that Smirnoff is the same proce, more or less and Finlandia, but they are miles apart in terms of quality. I still see people buying Smirnoff all the time and I pity their poor taste.

If you just buy spirits to get drunk, just get the cheapest vodka you can from a reputable source.

Brand familiarity and the fact that's it what the pubs stock probably. Anyone who buys spirits just to get drunk are totally missing the point. Might as well buy a 2 ltr bottle of white lightning.
